Ronnie Rauhuff  Maintenance Employee of the Fourth Quarter of 2009 The purpose of the Craft Recognition Program is to recognize one individual per quarter who demonstrates outstanding service and excellence within the Maintenance Department.  Nominations are accepted from co-workers, staff members and from individual schools.  A selection committee evaluates the various nominations and selects one individual to receive the award. Welcome the Knox County Schools Maintenance & Operations Department (KCSMO). KCSMO oversees the cleaning and maintenance of 88 schools, including 50 elementary schools, 14 middle schools, 12 high schools, two vocational centers, four special education centers, and two early childhood development centers.  Some of these sit/modules/groups/group_pages.phtml?gid=507154&nid=115975es may have more than one building. These sites range in age from brand new to nearly 100 years old. Together these sites have over 8,975,489 square feet of roofed space. These sites encompass approximately 1,500 acres of property that must be maintained.

The major functional areas that are the responsibility of KCSMO include:

• Fire Suppression Equipment

• Security Monitoring Systems
• Surplus Management
• Utilities

The KCS Maintenance & Operations Department strives to perform these diverse tasks in an efficient, timely and cost effective manner. Our mission is to provide prompt, efficient and courteous service to you. Additionally, we constantly strive to improve our service to you.
